What we’re about

Globalizing Ideas

Thanks to our growing community, we can debate big ideas with people all over the world... Simultaneously!!

https://ideas-exchange.info/en/

Join our global community of minds and share with people in different countries and from all backgrounds thorough our weekly online debates. Imagine debating with people in 10 different countries at the same time... How awesome is that?

This is a safe, inclusive and respectful space designed to talk to other humans, learn from one another and implement our ideas, in all relevant aspects of life.

We will discuss both “big” and “small” ideas, talking about the past, present, and future, the ideal world and our everyday reality.

Each Meetup will have a main focus subject, with a wide margin to explore other interesting topics.

Our main rule:

“I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Some subjects we’ll explore:

Human wellbeing and psychology

Relationships and family

Society, economics and politics

Lifestyles, cultures and languages

Technology and futurism

Philosophy, religions and ideologies

The “why” and “what for” of life

And many more, that we’ll decide on together…

Across headlines and social media, we are told that the planet is burning, species are disappearing, and humanity itself may be at risk. Rising global temperatures, mass extinctions, and extreme weather events seem to paint a picture of a world in crisis. Yet at the same time, some voices argue that the narrative has been exaggerated — that alarmist rhetoric fuels fear rather than solutions, and that human adaptability and innovation may carry us further than we think.
How do we discern reality from narrative in the climate and extinction debate? Is this truly an existential threat demanding radical action, or are we overstating the risks in ways that distort public understanding and policy?
In this conversation, we will explore:

    • The evidence for climate-driven ecological collapse and mass extinction.
    • The counterarguments that challenge “crisis” framing.
    • The psychological impact of fear, hope, and denial in shaping public response.
    • The roles of politics, media, and science in amplifying or tempering urgency.
    • The ethical dilemma: precautionary action versus the cost of overreaction.
    • The global divide: how perspectives differ between the Global North and South.

This is not a lecture but a space for dialogue. Together, we’ll wrestle with the hard questions: how much danger are we really in, and what is the most constructive way forward?
