About us
The purpose of this group is to get people together for hands-on learning about plant identification. It will remain within Toronto and be TTC accessible, with an occasional exception. I will try to create a mix of available times for events; some weekends, some weekdays, some afternoons, some evenings.
You should join this group if you want to learn about local plants. You should also join this group if you have knowledge of local plants that you would like to share.
I am at an intermediate level of local plant knowledge. There is a lot that I don't know. I will try to answer as many question as possible about plants but I encourage everyone to bring their own plant and tree identification books so that we can all learn together! I will bring a selection of my own books to each and every event.
You can also join our Facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/543563029520168/, which is also called Immersive Botany: Toronto Tree and Plant Identification Club.
Now on instagram too! https://www.instagram.com/immersivebotany/
It is not enough to know the names of plants. You have to have opportunities to use those words and commit the plants to memory.

Wilket Creek to Sunnybrook Park Trilliums
Andrew N Fairbairn Memorial Bench, 1132 Leslie St, Toronto, ON, CAWe will be meeting at the public bathrooms across from the Andrew N Fairbairn Memorial Bench. There are multiple routes and pathways in this area near the intersection of Leslie St and Eglinton Avenue East, so please arrive early and give yourself enough time to find the meeting location. You can walk in or drive in from Leslie Street.
From the meeting location, we will walk East to the set of stairs that we will climb. There are many stairs but we will go slowly and it is so worth it for the treasures at the top- so many trilliums!
The cost for this event will be $10. Bring 1 guest free of charge. Cash or e-transfer to daniellepellatthall@gmail.com can be paid upon arrival at the event.
If things change and you can no longer attend, please make sure to change your RSVP to NO at least 2 HOURS before the event starts. Please and thank you.

Bring your plant and tree identification guide if you have one, and if you don't have one, the library is a great place to try some out. Plant ID apps are also welcome.-Be safe
