The American Legion in Carol Stream puts on a great bingo game every Friday night.
The game starts promptly at 7 and usually ends by 10-10:15. Some nights they are packed. I will arrive around 6:00 pm to try to secure a table. It's $12 for 12 cards or $16 for 18 cards for 14 games. "Bonus" games and pull tabs are available at an additional cost. "First-timers" get a free bingo marker so you don't have to worry about what to bring if you haven't played bingo before. No one under 18 is allowed.
There is a large, reasonably-priced bar and food (mostly fried) is available for purchase before 7:30.
Tips for finding the American Legion: The American Legion is difficult to find. It is on the west side of Gary Ave -- set way back from the road. It is just a bit north of Geneva (stoplight) and south of St. Charles (stoplight). There is a tall white sign that says American Legion.....and a slightly shorter red sign that says pub. The driveway is easy to miss - if you get to the stoplight at Geneva (while heading south) or St Charles (while heading north), you missed it.
