This will be our first online meeting, Sharon will be providing information by Monday. Please check back in to get the link for our Zoom conference online. Sharon will explain how to get on Zoom if unfamiliar with this online conference service.

The goal of Indianapolis Buddhist Meditation Retreats (IBMR) is to provide teachings and support for Buddhist practice in all traditions of practice.

Copy of Sharon's FB post:
Good afternoon IBMR. I hope everyone is well and safe, following the stay-at-home and social-distancing instructions to help slow down the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Of course if you are following the guidelines then, like me , you may be missing your sangha, your spiritual friends and your sitting groups. Therefore, like so many other groups out there we want to provide an online experience to allow us to meet virtually.

A little later Cindy Brown will be sharing some information for daily 'virtual' sits using the Insight Timer app But I want to invite you to an online version of our regular Thursday evening group. This is possible with the help of "Zoom" a popular video and audio conferencing tool.

Don't worry - it's very easy to use..

Every Thursday evening at 7:15pm eastern time we will be presenting a 'virtual' IBMR meetup. To join the Thursday group will require you to have the Meeting ID from the host of the group. Each week's meetup will have it's own ID. We will post that weekly both here and on

if you are new to Zoom and would like to learn how to use it, I have posted the links for two different YouTube tutorials below. If you have never used a video conferencing tool, I would highly recommend you check out one or both of the tutorials.

Each Thursday a host - usually Cindy or I (or Orlando Gustilo when we can convince him ☺️) - will do a short reading or give a short talk to start the discussion and then we want to give everyone (who wants it) an opportunity to share their current experience or practice just as we do when we meet in person.

For those who are camera-shy or who do not have a webcam - you can still join the meetings and see and hear everyone else. Everyone will still be able to hear you - they just won't see your bright, shining face :)

This week, I will be hosting and talking briefly on "Spiritual Friends" Use the meeting ID below to join our first virtual meeting this Thursday, March 26th at 7:15 pm. Hope to see you there!!! 🙏🙏🙏
