What types of games do you like to make? What type do you play if any?

Although there are far too few of them, I enjoy playing challenging and intelligent games especially those featuring witty and humorous dialog. More of an interactive fiction lover rather than a shoot everything that moves type of player.

Do you make games full time or part time?

I'm a full time software developer, but not in the gaming arena. (Apologies for the pun) A professional and open source software developer, I cut my programming teeth writing software on a PDP-1170 until I was able to build my very own 8080/Z80 based microcomputer oh so many years ago. Not so impressive now since my home thermostat has more processing horsepower than my first homebrew computer. There is never enough time to pursue all of my interests, but I do find myself coming back to game development from time to time. Who knows, perhaps someday I will realize those awesome game concepts rattling around in the back of mind.

What skills do you have pertaining to game development? (Programming languages, artistic talents, animation, game design, etc...)

Lots of experience with agile development using a number of languages and technologies including Java, C++, HTML 5, and distributed networking topologies. My interests lie in game architecture/infrastructure, AI, and natural language parsing.

If you are not making or playing a game, what do you do with your time? What other hobbies or activites do you particapate in?

Enjoying the outdoors, reading, and listening to all types of music. As time permits, I like to pull out the soldering station and whip together some type of electronic project or the other.

Greetings all. I am a professional and open source software developer who appreciates a well crafted game and even manages to play a few from time to time.
