Patras Carnival Grand Parade, 2019

After the unforgettable last year's trip, we are preparing for the 2019 Carnival of Patras, the biggest dancing event of all Greece, year round!

If you are a foreigner, this is the best dancing/fun/going out event for you to experience, while being in Greece and probably one of the best in Europe. This event is rarely known to foreigners since Patra's Hotels during that time of the year, are filled with local tourists. Thus, the Municipality of Patras has no real incentive to market it beyond the Greek population.

There is no similar event like that in Europe or anywhere in the world, so make sure you join in if you want to experience something unique!

Schedule:

Saturday, March 9:

We depart from Athens early in the morning with our cars. There will be an arrangement to travel altogether to share the costs.

1. We take part at the "Chocolate wars" at Patra's Downtown!
2. We wear our costumes and parade at night with Group95, among 30.000 other carnival members!
3. Around midnight, we go to the Ultimate dancing (and birthday) party at "Yafka Dancing Club".

Sunday, March 10:

1. We wear our costumes again and participate at the Grand Parade somewhere around midday
2. Later in the evening we watch the ending ceremony and enjoy the fireworks
3. At midnight we go to the ultimate private party at King George's , to enjoy unlimited drinks and food (pasta). The admittance cost for that party is 20 euros.

Ash Monday, March 11:

We take a walk around the city, enjoy a good meal and depart for Athens late afternoon.
