Discussions among champions about influencing or leading a team, group, association, or organization, and any self-empowerment ideas to take it to the next level. We are looking to inspire ourselves, our team members, and introduce positive change in our organizations and communities.
I would like to start a "Leader Craftsmanship" movement. In Software Development, we have Software Craftsmanship. But for leadership and management, there is a dearth of discussion and improvement. Individuals are promoted every day into leadership positions with little chance for discussion amongst other leaders in their company or community.
Planned discussion format may be a mix between topical managerial (effective one-on-ones, feedback, reviews), leadership (strategy, vision), industry (agile development), along with stories, books, and ideas from members like you. The name is inspired by Work Rules! by Laszlo Bock. Other useful resources include podcasts (Manager Tools, Coaching for Leaders, The Art of Charm, The School of Greatness) and books (Are You Fully Charged?, Leaders Eat Last, It's Your Ship, The Happiness Advantage, Good To Great, The Power of Full Engagement, Choose Yourself).
