Optimizing Microsoft Access with SQL Server w/ Juan Soto

Details
Abstract:
SQL Server DBA’s are often asked to take over a Microsoft Access application that has become mission-critical, the conversation usually goes like “You’re a DBA and Access is a database, so take over this system and upgrade it to SQL Server...”, but simply moving the data over may not guarantee better performance and can even make matters worse.
The reality is Access can be much faster with SQL Server, allowing many more users, improving stability and safeguarding your data over a regular Access database. In this session, Juan Soto, the only Access MVP in Illinois, will discuss how to avoid pitfalls with performance, the proper method to designing tables for Access and how to leverage stored procedures and views with pass-through queries.
