Welcome to Information & Cybersecurity Issues in Healthcare Settings!
There are almost 80 healthcare professionals and that means we have a diverse group of interests, concerns, professional experiences, technical knowledge, and formal education. From the operational level, the group is formed so we can share common challenges, celebrate organizational successes; learn about training, education and certifications; and learn about our roles and responsibilities. Since Healthcare and Public Health Sector is one of the U.S. Critical Infrastructure, there are many resources we may be able to share and assist our membership.
We seemed to have a variety of members from the healthcare ecosphere – contractors, risk assessors, Infragard members, business owners, incident response, digital forensics, human resources, business managers, security educators, and me, a threat intelligence analyst. I am very interested in threats against critical infrastructure ~ particularly healthcare and the public health sector.
My long-term vision is to be open, listen to others, and explore new and innovative ideas. In a more progressive manner, we may host an annual event with panel discussions ~ local industry, academia, private partnerships, and public sector officials. There are issues that I have not even considered and the more we share, the better we can capture and bring our ideas and learn to do things better, more efficiently and build cyber resilient organizations.
