HOW TO END POVERTY
Hello everyone. Adriana has sent me info on an informative play on "How to End Poverty". Looks like a fun and engaging way to address a serious problem while discussing the possible solutions. From Adriana: Greetings, HOW TO END POVERTY is a collaboration with Sojourn Theatre, a once-Portland-based, now nationally dispersed theatre company focused on civic engagement through the arts. This play, in particular, addresses poverty in Portland, OR, specifically Multnomah County, through a series of scripted scenes, facilitated discussions, factual bursts, cameos from experts, and many more elements that culminate in each and every audience member voting on which method they believe will best combat poverty in Multnomah County. Each method will correspond to a local organization, and that organization will receive $1000 following the audience's vote. It's both an exciting, immersive theatre experience, and a chance for audiences to engage in a civic discussion. It's a show for those who hope to participate in art, not just consume it. I feel that those involved in your meetup group would jump at the chance to immerse themselves in this type of community engagement. Below you will find all the details. If you think your meetup group would be interested in coming or if you have an questions I would be happy to answer them. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. What we're about

This Group is about bringing together people who desire to bring change to the world or starting right here in our city...

...scientists, engineers, and innovators of world changing technologies, those who could not get funding or market entry because they were shut down by large corporations or may have had thier inventions bought and shelved to prevent competition.

...thinkers, doers, philanthropists, investors, and those interested in changing laws to bring us the world we truly desire. The Occupy movement has brought into focus many problems within our society. This group is about identifying the core problem behind the issues and organizing a solution that brings the laws into harmony with humanity and the environment and building a platform to bring forth the technologies to aid in the process.

I am the Director of Business Development for my company, an R+D company for a new type of motor technology, and have a knack for legal issues and creating and organizing unique solutions to all kinds of problems through identification of the core issues and outside the box thinking.
