What we're about

For everyone interested in instructional design, improving training and creating great learning, whether that's eLearning, face-to-face or blended.

Participants range from seasoned industry leaders to recent graduates. Members' roles include instructional designers, trainers, eLearning developers, technical authors, training managers and heads of talent development. Individuals include freelancers, team members from some of Australia's top training companies, solo training practitioners at local companies up to internal team members from multinational corporations.

Come to learn more about a specific topic each meeting. Stay to enjoy networking and meeting others interested in improving training and learning. The format, topics and venue constantly vary. If you don't find what you're looking for then please feel free to suggest a MeetUp we should run.

We're always looking for spaces to host groups as small as 30, and as large as 80, so if you have a space that could host, we'd love to talk!

Our Meetups always aim to run for free when possible.

In 2019, we're launching a limited series of Meetup Masterclasses; an opportunity to do a deep dive into popular topics from the monthly meetup series, run by industry leaders & practitioners. These half day/one day masterclasses will attract a charge at the organisers discretion.

If you are interested in hosting a masterclass, please reach out via the group to Amanda Ashby.

Australian Workplace Learning Meetup, Learning@Work Expo Meetup

Sydney International Convention Centre

With so many L&D people in town for the Australian Workplace Learning Conference (brought to you by EduTECH and Australian Institute of Training and Development), it's a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow colleagues from around Australia. Please join us at the expo seminar theater, in the Learning @ Work expo for some drinks and a chance to network. This is a very informal meetup - a chance to say hello & meet new people! This is very kindly sponsored by the Australian Workplace Learning conference. It doesn't matter whether you're in L&D, HR, ID, TAFE or a Uni - there should be something in this for you...all plus the added fun of visiting the lights of the Vivid afterwards. If you're not attending the conference, you're able to join the meetup. Simply register for a free guest pass, which also gives you free access to explore the expo beforehand (open til 6pm) here https://www.terrapinn.com/exhibition/australian-workplace-learning-conference/About-the-Free-Expo.stm If you are planning to attend the conference, but haven't yet registered, you can use the link here: https://www.terrapinn.com/exhibition/australian-workplace-learning-conference/REGISTER.stm Look forward to seeing you all there & meeting some new faces!
