Do you write learning or performance focused content for any of the following: online courses, videos, animations, apps, portals, branching scenarios, games, job aids, virtual assistants or chatbots? Good writing is invisible, bad writing is baaaad. Let’s discuss approaches and techniques used by UX, web, game, film and fiction writers, and how we might borrow from these to improve the learner experience. ----------------- Format: Catch up for a drink and topic focused chat. > BYO insights, ideas, research and questions. This is a peer learning event. It's more fun if you come with something to share. > For this event we'll have a facilitator for each type of writing and rotate the role every 30 minutes. Be prepared to put your hand up for the job! You'll get to wear a badge :) Where: Denmark House, 428 Little Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000 Denmark House has a lovely quiet bar area with tree top and laneway views and delicious Danish style bar snacks. https://denmarkhouse.com.au/ When: Wed May 29, 6 - 7.30pm ----------------- Discussion questions: 1. Sydney International Convention Centre
With so many L&D people in town for the Australian Workplace Learning Conference (brought to you by EduTECH and Australian Institute of Training and Development), it's a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow colleagues from around Australia. Please join us at the expo seminar theater, in the Learning @ Work expo for some drinks and a chance to network. This is a very informal meetup - a chance to say hello & meet new people! This is very kindly sponsored by the Australian Workplace Learning conference. It doesn't matter whether you're in L&D, HR, ID, TAFE or a Uni - there should be something in this for you...all plus the added fun of visiting the lights of the Vivid afterwards. If you're not attending the conference, you're able to join the meetup. Simply register for a free guest pass, which also gives you free access to explore the expo beforehand (open til 6pm) here https://www.terrapinn.com/exhibition/australian-workplace-learning-conference/About-the-Free-Expo.stm If you are planning to attend the conference, but haven't yet registered, you can use the link here: https://www.terrapinn.com/exhibition/australian-workplace-learning-conference/REGISTER.stm Look forward to seeing you all there & meeting some new faces!
