EXPERIENCE INTERPLAY THROUGH POWER OF PLAY (POP) W.H.O.A.! Women Helping Others Achieve, a domestic nonprofit organization in Atlanta, Georgia founded and ran by InterPlay Leader, Carolyn Renée offers the community an opportunity to experience the Power of Play (POP) through InterPlay. InterPlay is an art-based system that allows everyone to use sound, movement, and stories to create amusement and joy in the moment. What’s really cool about playing is that it relieves stress, brightens the spirit and makes us smarter. POP is an intergenerational play date is for young and old alike. It is intended as a family fun date for everyone including children, parents and grandparents too! The play activities are often improvisational and spontaneous. Almost anyone can do InterPlay regardless of skill level. Interplay is centered on fun. It supports those who participate in it to recognize all of their positive influences and strengths, both internally and externally. Shambhala Meditation Center of Atlanta
Sitting meditation, spiritual text and poetry will provide the springboard for this time of deep play. What is the “big story” moving through your life? How do we practice partnership with that “something more”? The practice of InterPlay makes room for the fullness we each embody. InterPlay recognizes and playfully engages the challenging aspects of our humanity as well. Bring your full self out to play, explore, dream and rest through the easy forms of InterPlay. InterPlay is an artform that anyone can do, a spiritual practice for some, and a way to create community based on improvisation and play. Through simple incremental forms, participants are invited into movement, storytelling, song and connection. As well as leading playshops throughout the metro area, Jennifer leads InterPlay at Lee Arrendale State Prison in partnership with Reforming Arts. Jennifer incorporates InterPlay into her work as a lead teaching artist with Synchronicity Theatre’s “Playmaking for Girls” program. Playmaking for Girls empowers incarcerated and “with hope” girls through the medium of play-writing, theatre games, and performance. Jennifer has a BFA in acting from Ohio University and worked professionally as an actor and improviser for many years. She is also an ordained New Church minister. Debra Hiers comes to Interplay with a performance background in poetry and improvisational music. She is a certified Integral Coach with a MA in Humanistic Psychology and BA in Theater. Debra is a long-time student of Tibetan Buddhism, and a member of the Atlanta Shambhala Center since 1997. She is keenly interested in the relationship between meditation practice, mindfulness awareness, and creativity. As a Shambhala Guide she is authorized to give group meditation instruction.

Find easy ways to change what you want to change in your life: relationships, work, community, home, spirit, body image. Discover your hidden resources. The InterPlay Life Practice Program is an active, creative way to change your life and change your world. Immerse yourself in the system of InterPlay—ideas and practices that can move you from where you are to where you would like to be. You will be meeting regularly over a period of time with a group of fellow InterPlayers. You may use this supportive, affirming community to help you shape your life in ways that are best for you. You will get individual attention from the program leaders who will help you identify your personal desires and intentions. Although some previous experience with InterPlay is encouraged, there are no prerequisites for taking part in the InterPlay Life Practice Program. Elements of the Life Practice Program The Secrets of InterPlay, a multiple-day retreat where you will be immersed in the InterPlay philosophy and practice. A series of 8 Saturdays with your Life Practice Program group for play, presentation, discernment, and interaction, where you will have a chance to explore new creative possibilities in a supportive community. Three focus sessions during which you receive personal support from the program leaders to get more of what you want. Reading and writing assignments which will help you apply InterPlay insights to your own life. A Self-Study of several of the elements of the InterPlay system that will give you a more in-depth understanding of how InterPlay works. Anyone who has previously completed the Life Practice Program may repeat it at a reduced tuition.
