Sweetwater Summit Hike + Optional Lunch at Graciela's Taco Shop
Details
Let's do a great 7-mile hike in the South Bay that features spectacular views of Sweetwater Reservoir like the one in the picture above! Late winter and early spring are the best times of year to do this hike because the landscape is at its most beautiful and is as green as Ireland! Relatively few people know about this hike, but fortunately, I do! ๐
This hike is of easy to moderate difficulty except for the "Cardiac Trail" leading to the summit. (Yes, that's its real name.) Fortunately, that trail is short!
Once we reach the summit, we will stop for some pics with the reservoir in the background, then we will hike to Sweetwater Summit Regional Park. We will take a break there (restrooms are available), then we will hike through the park and cross a bridge over the 125 freeway and hike back.
Here is the website for Sweetwater Summit Regional Park:

Once we finish the hike, we will have lunch (or brunch) at Graciela's Taco Shop, which is behind the Starbucks. This place serves typical Mexican food that is tasty and inexpensive. You may want to peruse the menu at the link below prior to the hike.

What to bring: at least one liter of drinking water and a snack (optional).

If this sounds good to you, please RSVP for this fun day of hiking a beautiful trail, a delicious Mexican lunch, and of course, great conversation and camaraderie with your international friends!
