Exploring Cholula (Pueblo Mágico) and the City of Puebla

Outside Jac´s Restaurant near Metro Chilpanchingo

$40.00

Let´s explore the beautiful town of Cholula (Pueblos Mágico) and the city of Puebla. Cholula was the second largest Aztec capital, after Tenochtitlan (modern Mexico City), possibly with a population of up to 100,000. The great city stood at the foot of what appears to be an earthen hill that is, in fact, the largest pyramid ever built, covering over 46 acres and spanning an incredible 405 meters on each side! In addition to this great construction dedicated to Quetzalcoatl, the city had a reported 365 temples. After taking the city during the Spanish Conquest, Hernan Cortes vowed that it would be rebuilt with a Christian church to replace each of the old pagan temples; less than 50 new churches were actually built, but the Spanish colonial churches are unusually numerous for a city of its size. A beautiful colonial town with an interesting archeological site and tunel system. Puebla Due to its history and architectural styles ranging from Renaissance to Mexican Baroque, the city was named a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1987. The city is also famous for the Mexican dishes ´mole poblano´ ´chiles en nogada´ and Talavera pottery. The price is 750 Mexican Pesos and includes private transport for our small group, experienced driver and explanations in Spanish and English. Please make the correspondent payment no later than the 15th of Aug 2018. You can pay by making a transfer by Internet, by making a deposit of cash money in a Banamex bank or by paying with cash money in an Oxxo store. Please send a WhatsApp to[masked] (Lidia Herrera), to check availability and to receive the payment information. Let´s explore more hidden jewels of México together !
