Bio: Mike Kemelmakher is the founder and the head of SAP Co-Innovation Center in Israel. COIL is a team of experts in engineering, sw/hw architecture, solution management and business development. COIL focus is on promotion of advanced 3rd party SW/HW solutions relevant for big data analytics in SAP eco-system. Moreover, COIL activities cover support of due-diligence processes initiated by SAP corporate development and SAP ventures, co-innovation around SAP technology stack with local ISVs and startups, and performance of special co-innovation projects with strategic partners by direct requests from the SAP CTO office. Prior to his current role, Mike was with the global SAP HANA product management team, where he was responsible for the overall HANA platform (OS & HW) product definition & architecture strategy.
Prior to joining SAP, Mike was the CTO of a privately held consulting company based in Israel, providing consulting and R&D services in the fields of infrastructure reliability, high availability, capacity planning, Linux kernel development, and performance optimization for large customers in a variety of industries. In this role Mike had a number of leading companies as clients - including Intel, IBM, Dell, CheckPoint, Comverse, RAFAEL, RadWare, Radvision, Israeli Defense Forces, etc.
Mike holds M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Bar Ilan University, with specialization in distributed systems and high-performance computing. During his M.Sc. studies Mike was a member of the MOSIX research project, where he closely collaborated with MOSIX core development team from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
