MQTT and IoT

We are back to hosting monthly meet-ups for IoT Pune. Meetups will be scheduled on the last Saturday of every month. Every session will have 1 or 2 technical talks, followed by demos of exciting projects from the IoT community in Pune.
Feel free to ping us to showcase your IoT hobby projects or talk about something cool that you learnt, in these sessions. Ideas and topics for the upcoming sessions are always welcome.

MQTT is a very popular protocol for communication between low-footprint embedded devices and the cloud.

At this session, we will look at how MQTT started and evolved to become the dominant protocol for TCP/IP communication. Some of the topics that we are will cover

(1) MQTT vs HTTP - what makes MQTT lightweight
(2) Understanding MQTT 3.1
(3) Whats new in the upcoming MQTT 5
(4) AWS IoT as a MQTT broker

We will have multiple demos as part of the session. Attendees are encouraged to bring and show off their own work at the meetup. We are going to have the following demos

• BLE IoT Gateway using Raspberry Pi and AWS cloud
