Kasper de Graaf (Images&Co) will talk about the EU VITAL Project (http://vital-iot.eu). VITAL is a project that seeks to develop an open-to-all ecosystem for the Internet of Things, with a focus on encouraging the development of new “smart city” applications. VITAL is being developed using two case studies: in Istanbul, VITAL will help citizens and the municipality to improve traffic management through aggregation of data from a variety of sources and facilitating better realtime information and interventions. In London, VITAL will explore how using data from multiple sources and systems can support the development of smart working and networking for an economy increasingly fuelled by smart, mobile and intelligent micro enterprises.
Kasper de Graaf, producer/director at Images&Co and smart city partner in VITAL, discusses how – with projects such as these – we can create beneficial outcomes at a time when our understanding of cities and how they function has been transformed by information flows, looking at empowerment and protection of citizens and the importance of collaboration as a driver of innovation and progress.
Mary Palancianu (OperaBit) will talk about connecting your home with Internet of Things. (More details will follow)
OperaBit is a technological partner providing a single system to connect and make communicating things inside and outside of the house. Our system manage the connected things and connect those which are not “smart” yet. The system was prototyped in January 2014 and will be available on the market as an integrated system in May 2015.
