Women in IoT

Details

Hola!

It's time for a whole new Oslo IoT Meetup! Let's meet, share, learn and mingle while the sun still shines!

This session will be themed with "Women in IoT" - a special session in tribute to female leaders and professionals who have been rocking their careers in IoT and inspiring gender diversity in the broader tech scene.

We thank [ Bouvet ] for sponsoring the venue and [ Telia ] for providing the food & drinks.

Oh hey, since it's summer, the venue comes with a terrace! ☀️🍹

~~~~~~~~~~
As usual, we have a great line-up of speakers. Topics and details will be published soon.
  1. Marianne Styrman, Director of IoT at Webstep
Topic: Introduction to some exciting IoT projects ongoing in Norway
Summary: Marianne will introduce you to several ongoing IoT projects that are transforming business sectors and solving national challenges at the same time. She has been in the tech industry for 25 years and ask herself: Would the IoT scene benefit of a better gender balance?
  1. Ami Thomasgaard, Group Leader at NorgesGruppen Data AS
Ami will present findings from a summer student Project, combining IoT and AI. And she will also give a brief introduction of her career in tech.
  1. Sofia Hussain, Head of UX at Telia Company Division X
Topic: Why every CEO should be BFF with the design leader
Summary: IoT has the potential for solving complex problems. However, simply providing technology is not enough for gaining success. People have to experience the technology as being useful, convenient and easy to use. User experience designers can craft experiences that guides people to use and seamlessly integrate IoT products into their work tasks or everyday life. This, however, requires that a strong culture for user centered development is created in companies – and a major cultural shift like this cannot succeed without backing from the CEO herself.
Sofia will talk about why all companies providing digital solutions have to empower designers to utilize their skills, both at a strategic and operative level.
  1. Bente Hoff, Director Strategic Cybersecurity at NSM (National Security Authority)
Topic: IoT and Cyber Security
Summary: Security breaches are increasing. There are more bad actors, and they are becoming increasingly more proficient. At the same time Norwegian companies are on a digital transformation journey of central business processes. What role does IoT play in this landscape?
