I am pleased to announce that Ray Evans, Head of IBM’s X-Force Red’s Europe region will be speaking at the Secure IoT Event on 17th October, the Green Park Conference Centre, Reading.

Ray's talk "Industrial IoT -  How Secure is it ?" will cover:

  • Smart Meter Assessments & Utilities
  • Various IoT devices IBM have tested
  • SCADA type equipment in e.g. Pipelines
  • Social Engineering aspects to be considered.

Ray Evans Bio

Ray’s primary responsibilities include managing and delivering security assessment to IBM’s global client base.

Ray has worked in IT for over 30 years, 21 of them in Information Security. Ray has always been interested in security from a child and started his career on z/Series mainframe specializing in security. He performed his first Security Assessment back in 1995. Ray then performed numerous security assessments over the next 15 years helping many customers understand the security risks they had and how to mitigate them. In January 2008 Ray was appointed the first EMEA Security Testing Manager. From 2009 Ray additionally took on global leadership role for testing. Ray passionately believes that through a combination of proactive and reactive security measures clients can significantly reduce their Cyber Security risk profile saving their business money in the long term and protecting their brand reputation.

Ray holds multiple industry and security qualifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) since 2003 and presents at conferences and universities on Cyber Security.
