Rachel Street: Strategies to Conquer Your Next Rehab!

We are honored to have Rachel Street of the DIY Network's show Philly Revival, join us for our March meeting! As President of her own construction company Hestia Construction, LLC (in addition to the many hats she wears- check out her bio below!) - she'll provide first hand knowledge of what it takes to ensure you are prepared to take on your next rehab- big or small!

Rachel Street is a Realtor, Contractor, and Television Host. She is the Team Leader of the real estate team The Street Group at Space & Company and President of Hestia Construction, LLC, a woman-owned construction company offering full construction services and design-driven custom homes in her native Philadelphia. She is also the Host of Philly Revival, an HGTV and DIY Network TV show that follows her as she finds architecturally interesting properties that are run-down or abandoned, and transforms them into exciting modern spaces that also honor the history and unique original features of the home. Rachel, her construction projects, and real estate listings have been featured in many local and national publications, including Philadelphia Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Washington Post Magazine, House & Home, The Wall Street Journal, Parade Magazine, Curbed Philly, and County Lines Magazine, among others.

A graduate of Temple University, Rachel is also a classically trained singer, and has lived abroad in both Italy and Mexico. Fluent in both Spanish and Italian, Rachel runs a free English program for adults in South Philadelphia, as well as a program through her construction company to provide free renovations for families in need. She is also a Board Member for the East Passyunk Business Improvement District. Previously, Rachel has previously worked in commercial finance as a Mortgage Analyst and Commercial Loan Originator, helping to underwrite and close over $300 million of commercial loans. She has also completed extensive studies toward becoming a General Appraiser through The Appraisal Institute, and has a certificate in Construction Management. Rachel has won numerous awards, including Best of Philly 2019's "Best Contractor", The Philadelphia Inquirer's Influencers of Real Estate 2019 "Rising Star Award", as well as awards for her community service and real estate sales volume.

"Philly Revival" is a new show on The DIY Network that follows on the heels of its pilot episode that aired last year under the name "Philly Street Flippin'". Not your average flipper, Rachel Street looks for architecturally interesting or historic properties that are run-down or abandoned, and brings them back to life, seamlessly blending the original details with exciting modern elements. The result is a renovation that works for a modern home buyer while still honoring the history of the home, and these projects are listed for sale. The show follows Rachel throughout the process, and features homes of various styles and neighborhoods throughout the Philadelphia area.
