What we're about

WELCOME TO THE IoT HARDWARE MAKERS START-UP:

When I was up in Seattle about a year and a half ago, I had an interview with Vulcan. They asked me "what are the most important inventions in the past 10 years?" I said "Only two. The front facing camera because it allows us to see ourselves from our own perspective. And the 'like' button on Facebook because it lets other people reflect upon our own self-actualization, and creates tight feedback loops."

FIRST, WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED IN OUR GROUP:

This group explicitly DOES NOT ALLOW the marketing of events or conferences by for-profit organiztions, or the soliciting of our members to attend conferences, such as Dreamstate, or IoB (Internet of Business) events, etc. Those events are widely publicized elsewhere, and therefore they are not allowed to be posted here. I will never ask you for money, or for your donations.

If you are a member of our group and are a PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL, feel free to post your event here. Otherwise, if you're large COMPANY or an INSTITUTION hosting a for-profit conference, please advertise it elsewhere.

SECOND, WHAT (AND WHO) IS ALLOWED IN OUR GROUP:

A place for IoT/Wearable Hardware Makers & Engineers to meet with Start-up Founders in the space. We're looking to create a useful resource for people to make great connections in the San Francisco / Silicon Valley IoT & Wearable world. Key reasons to join the group are:

• Founders looking for great new employees/Co-Founders

• Makers looking to work in exciting new start-ups

• Anybody looking to make new connections in the space

• Anybody looking to be inspired by learning about what others are doing in the space

• Investors looking to meet great new start-ups and people across IoT & Wearables.

As we grow, we will look to set up a few useful talks with great entrepreneurs, thought leaders, manufacturing partners /prototyping firms and of course, our friends in the suits so that people can really start to get to grips with the IOT / Wearable community out here in San Francisco!

Please feel free to get involed in our discussions and we look forward to building a great group for everyone!

Thanks!
