6:30 PM - Doors open

7:00 PM - Using Splunk to put your IoT data to work

Converging Data deliver data analytics capability into organisations. Splunk provides a great way to gather your IoT data and put it to work using real-time dashboards and alerts. I hope to introduce Splunk and show how it can quickly help to create value from your IoT data.

7:30 PM - Break

7:45 PM - Giving a voice to the physical world with Low Power radio networks (LPWAN)

In this talk we’ll explore how and why low power radio networks are driving the IoT. We’ll focus on how to connect devices to Sigfox - a robust and easy to use network already widely deployed in the UK with over 1200 gateways providing coverage nationwide - and many more in 60 other countries.

Talks aims to offer something for everyone from the basics of connectivity, business mode of typical IoT devices and explore other connectivity options like LoRaWAN and NB-IoT before taking a more tech dive into typical device design, power consumption and look at the - recently opened - radio protocol itself. There’ll also be devices available for a hands on demo afterwards.

8:30 PM - Finish

Massive "Thank You" to Design Spark for sponsoring the meetup. DesignSpark.com is the Engineering and Maker Community of RS Components.

The postcode of the venue is LS1 4JB. Platform is located over the Leeds rail station with the entrance outside next to Marks and Spencer.
