IoT NY Meetup - September

Details

This month, we’ll be focusing on legal aspects of IoT. Don’t expect dry explanations and legalese- this session will be relevant, engaging, and in plain English!

Our panel features a great team from Cardozo Law School’s Tech Startup Clinic and a legal expert/entrepreneur with depth in cloud, mobile, and security. They're dialed into the key considerations where IoT intersects privacy, intellectual property, and product liability issues.

Whether you’re in idea phase, prototyping, or in production, this is a great primer on:

• Data collection, access to data, and privacy laws

• Security issues around smart objects and spaces

• Connected Health Care considerations/FDA regulations

• IoT as a new frontier in information and access, and what that means for entrepreneurs and investors

Panelists:

Aaron Wright is the Director of the Tech Startup Clinic at Yeshiva University's Cardozo Law School. Prior to joining Cardozo, he sold an internet company to Wikia, Inc. (the sister project to Wikipedia), where he managed the New York office and was General Counsel and Vice President of Product and Business Development. Aaron also practiced intellectual property law at Jenner & Block and Patterson Belknap.

Stephanie Diehl is a member of the Cardozo Tech Startup Clinic. She is the Senior Notes Editor of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal and will be joining Baker & Botts after she graduates.

Walter Beller-Morales is also a member of the Cardozo Tech Startup Clinic. He is a co-founder of the school's Startup Society and co-founded a company before law school.
