IoT NY #46: Machine Learning in IoT
Details
This month, we'll dig into discussion, use cases, and demos around how Machine Learning (ML) is being applied in IoT.
We'll touch on event-driven architectures, how to build intelligence into IoT solutions, intended results, and driving insights with ML.
Guest speakers include:
• Norbert Krupa, Solutions Engineer at Talend
• George Lenhart, formerly of Hershey
Leveraging sensor data from a mobile phone and streaming it through Talend, Norbert Krupa of Talend will demonstrate a highly interactive IoT use case. Machine learning is applied to the sensor data to determine whether the user is resting, walking, or running. Throughout the demo, attendees will be able to participate in real-time and produce visualizations with their names attached.
Formerly of Hershey (as in Hershey's kisses), George Lenhart will dig into the use of ML, IoT and prescriptive analytics in candy production / manufacturing process. He will demo an example of predictions using Microsoft’s Azure and ML Studio, demystify the use of ML, and reveal 8 key steps of leveraging data in an industrial context.
