In this presentation, we'll explore Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in depth without using complex terminology. We'll investigate how these technologies might influence our future, examining the evolution of AI and its practical applications across various industries.

In addition, we'll analyze the interaction between humans and robots, emphasizing safety challenges in environments where they coexist. We'll also address why current robotic technology isn't fully prepared for widespread human interaction, trailing behind the advancements seen in AI development.

Bio:

Dr. Jafari is an associate professor with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Texas. Dr. Jafari’s research interests lie primarily in the area of Rehabilitation Robotics, Artificial Muscles and Soft Actuators.

He has authored more than 60 scientific articles in prestigious robotic journal and conferences and holds 6 international patents and edited a book entitled as: Soft Robotics in Rehabilitation, that has been published by Elsevier.

He has received more than $2.7M federal and international research grants, including CAREER award which is the highest honor a faculty member can receive, granted by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
