Iron Thread Village is composed of a community of mindfulness practitioners that all have their own unique reasons for showing up and getting on the mat. We meditate together, and we share our experiences to help one another grow on this journey called life. Our community is located in the Mesa/Gilbert area near Sossaman and Guadalupe, and is one of five Thich Nhat Hanh Sanghas in the greater Phoenix area.
The lessons taught by the facilitators typically relate to the Zen Buddhist tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, however, we are open to discussion topics of other religious backgrounds, books, or personal experiences.
We meet once a month, and there are no charges or fees associated with this group.
This event will take place at my residence in East Mesa.
The schedule will be as follows:
7:00pm - 7:30pm: Meditation on our Commitment(s) for Habit Change
7:30pm - 8:00pm: Vegan Potluck - Entrees, Snacks, Drinks!
8:00pm - 8:30pm: Food Waste Part 2
8:30pm - 9:00pm: How to Assemble a Zero Waste Kit and Learn about Community Supported Agriculture
Do not worry about bringing your own cushion for meditation. We have plenty :)
In this group, we will be reviewing the Heart Sutra through the book “The Other Shore”, which can be found on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Other-Shore-Translation-Heart-Commentaries/dp/1941529143.
