What we're about
UPDATE!! We have our limit of 15 new members. After the first meeting, some may find that the group isn't for them and so there'll be some new openings. Keep checking in, just in case.
"Irregular Resolutions" is a composers group for contemporary classical music that has been meeting since 2002. Though each of us has a different aesthetic, we share each others music, scores and make detailed criticism, with an effort to be constructive. The meetings usually consist of a potluck meal and casual conversation for about an hour, followed by a listening session that can go from 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending upon how much music there is to review. In the past, we have also organized yearly concerts of our music and split the cost of hiring various ensembles among the members. This Meetup is an outreach to those who may have an interest in a group like ours but were unaware of its existence. Currently, there are 10 members but as attendance at meetings (after 15 years) has been waning, we would like to invite new members if they can bring enthusiasm along with an effort to coexist with composers of diverse tastes. If interested, please RSVP and the address of the meeting will be personally sent. There is no cost to attend. However, there is a limit to the number of new members as we all want to be able to share our music.
