2017 Island Bay Toastmasters Meeting - Guests Welcome!

Spring is a perfect time to blossom some new communication skills!

Toastmasters is a worldwide educational organization that exists to help people improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills.

It's a safe environment for you to learn and grow, regardless of your experience or natural skills. We welcome Introverts, Extroverts and everything in between!

We meet every 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of the month. You'll find a mix of prepared and impromptu speeches, and all attendees have some role in the meeting that will benefit their communication skills, even if they are not doing an actual "speech".

Guests are very welcome to come along and see what it's all about!

As a guest you're welcome to try 'Table Topics' -our impromptu 1-2 min speeches that are a fun way of trying out public speaking. There's no pressure, you are welcome to just be an observer if that suits you better.

When: 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Where: Island Bay Community Centre, 137 The Parade, Island Bay
Why: Improved public speaking, confidence, and communication skills!

Our club is an easy, friendly environment, guests are always welcome.

Arrive from 7:15 for a prompt 7:30 start. We have a break for tea and biscuits half way through, when you'll get a chance to speak with Toastmasters members and find out more.
