Topic: How to Migrate Enterprise-Level Java/Spring Boot Application Painlessly from Old Versions to New Ones

Application migration from old Java/Spring versions to new ones could seem as an easy. But everything drastically changes when you have to migrate ecosystem consisting of tens or even hundreds components and microservices. Vast scale, unique architecture and wide range of dependencies excludes ability to apply simple and one-size-fits-all solution. However, there are constant points based on which you can build an approach and reach success even in the difficult cases.

I am going to share a practical experience how our R&D team successfully done a system migration from old Java and Spring Boot to a new versions, the system which consists of more than 400 components and microservices. I will talk about obvious and not at all obvious problems we had to face. Likewise about successful along with failed solutions and what tools, approaches were used.

Speaker: Alexandr Shuvaev is a Certified Oracle Java Developer from EPAM. In IT since 2012. In Enterprise Java developing last 4 years. I have a specific experience in migration big projects from Java 7 and Java 8 to new versions. Mentor at EPAM Systems. Speaker of JOKER 2021 International Java conference.
