SR&ED (http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/txcrdt/sred-rsde/menu-eng.html) is a federal tax incentive program initiated by Canada Revenue Agency since the 1980s. Claimants are able to receive up to 64% refund on their SR&ED eligible expenses every year. However, it is estimated that only 15% of the companies that qualify actually applied for SR&ED.

Alex Popa (https://www.linkedin.com/in/embeddedxer)is the Managing Partner at Boast Capital. Previously, Alex managed the software (ICT) SR&ED practice for KPMG in Western Canada as well as a multinational management consulting firm. Prior to becoming an SR&ED consultant, Alex co-founded an e-commerce startup specializing in online recruitment resources to high turnover industries and was a Business Intelligence Engineer at Johnson & Johnson.

Alex is a certified Project Management Professional, holds a B. Eng. in Software Engineering from Lakehead University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia.

Sanjay Behal (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sanjaybehal8) is the Director of Business Development at Boast Capital. He is responsible for building partnerships in Vancouver and educating organizations on all aspects of the SR&ED program.

Prior to SR&ED, Sanjay worked in the recruitment industry, most recently focused on the tech sector. He has placed professionals in IT, Accounting & Finance, Marketing & Sales and Human Resource positions. He received his Bcomm in Marketing from University of Calgary.
