The Interaction Design Association (IxDA) is a member-supported organisation dedicated to the discipline of Interaction design. We aim to foster a community where design professionals in this field can learn, discover new inspirations and form meaningful connections with one another.
What convinces you of a product’s usability and efficacy? How do you establish the reliability of a service?
This Interaction Design Day, let us come together to explore how trust and responsibility is at the heart of well-designed products and services used across industries — from financial services to digital products and services.
This year, IxDA Singapore presents 4 narratives centered on the theme of Trust & Responsibility:
1. Designing the network of trust at Visa
By Preethi Mariappan, Head of Design, Asia Pacific, Visa
While economies all over the world are moving rapidly towards a cashless society, there is one currency that remains relevant – the currency of trust. Since its founding, trust has been at the core of what Visa, the world’s leading payments network, stands for. Get a glimpse into how its designers work towards building a network of consumer trust.
2. Designing for trust and responsible innovation in financial services
Liu Zenan, Head of Product, StashAway
Fintech innovation has become a major focus in Singapore’s tech ecosystem. From wealth management, remittance, to payment, the latest Fintech products enable digital-savvy customers to enjoy faster and more convenient financial services at lower costs. This talk will provide some insights and first-hand experiences on how companies could design for digital trust in financial services, while protecting customer's interest throughout the process.
3. Trust at the Human Scale
By Wei Kong, Researcher and Designer
In principle obvious but in practice needing time and effort to build, trust is a hard-earned powerful enabler, yet, it can be fragile and easily lost. Drawing from past experiences, Wei will share how trust can be built with individuals, teams and organisations to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
4. The Weight of Trust
By Mario Van der Meulen, Principal Designer, Foolproof
One of the amazing things about trust is how much of it we have and how little attention we pay to it. But without trust there is no collaboration. And while trust is personal, establishing a collective trust requires a different mindset. In ‘The Weight Of Trust’ Mario Van der Meulen introduces three key ideas about trust in the pursuit of true collaboration.
Presented in partnership with Adobe and IxDA, World Interaction Design Day is an annual global event where the design community comes together to discuss themes around how interaction design improves the human condition.
