IxD Session: A conversation with Jason Leow, Outsprint
Hey everyone, it's been awhile since our last IxD session with 2018 kicking start to a very busy year for all of us here. This month we'll be chatting with Jason Leow ( who runs Outsprint (, a social enterprise as public innovation design consultancy, creating products and services that deliver public and social good. We'll be talking about how design is shaping the public sector, how you as a designer can apply your design skills for social impact / public good, how he is using design sprints to help public sectors innovate and more. Also, Jason recently started his #1mvp1month project which recently launch the Outsprint Store - an online store for design tools for public good ( ) and Public Design Vault - 500+ design tools for public good, all in one place ( so we can expect to chat about these side projects and what we can expect next. -------------------------- About Jason Leow -------------------------- Jason’s first forays in design was helping businesses build online brands through user-centered web design, where he applied design thinking to his freelance work. Before starting out in as a designer, he was previously with the National Council of Social Service where he championed ground-up collaboration efforts between social services, voluntary welfare organisations and the grassroots. At The Human Experience Lab in the Public Service Division, Jason had the opportunity to bring his passions for human-centered design, social innovation and entrepreneurship into government to create public good. He spent 2 months at the globally renowned innovation firm IDEO, working on a collaborative project commissioned by the housing authorities and PSD to look into the future of public housing. He had also worked on various multi-agency projects exploring issues such as Singaporeans’ career aspirations and helping persons with disabilities find employment. He is now running Outsprint, a social enterprise as public innovation design consultancy, creating products and services that deliver public and social good. He recently helped SG Enable, an agency dedicated to enabling persons with disability, design a new grant experience through a one-week design sprint. His pet passion of hoarding online articles had now found some popularity and practical use, in the Design For Public Good Flipboard magazine, with over 11,000 readers. -------------------------- Agenda -------------------------- 7pm – 7.30pm: Registration, networking. 7.30pm – 8.30pm: Conversation with Jason 8.30pm – 9pm: Networking and drinks :) We're hoping to keep the session really informal and casual where it is more conversational centric so bring along some of your burning questions to the session. The value of the meetup is as good as the questions asked :) Also, if you would like to ask the question privately, please email me at [masked] and I'll ask them on your behalf :) Alternatively, you may like to tweet us the questions to @IxDASG ( and we can have that answered! As we have very limited space, please only RSVP if you can make it so that others can confirm their attendance. See you there!
