What we're about

Welcome to JAMstack Cincy!

Prepare for an exciting lineup of speakers & events in the areas of static site generation, the modern web ecosystem, web apps and web hosting and performance solutions.

The JAMstack is not about specific technologies. It’s a new way of building websites and apps that delivers better performance, higher security, lower cost of scaling, and a better developer experience. No rendering means greatly reduced attack surface area for malware, ultra fast hosting on CDN, no debugging php or optimizing render times, and a super cheap way to scale your hosting.

JAMstack Cincy is increasingly looking to power a larger part of tomorrow's internet!

Getting Started with Headless CMS (workshop)

In our first workshop in this series, we focused on Netlify and how to get a project setup on Netlify, plus a few other bells and whistles. The second workshop focused on Static Site Generators. In this third installment, we're going to bring the first two together and hook up a headless CMS to our project. This exploration will is appropriate for newbies and old hats alike. We will cover some basic concepts, but we will also brush the surface of more complex topics. The workshop will flow to serve every developer in the room. Agenda: 5:30pm - Doors open & networking 6:00pm - Welcome, Announcements, & static site generators overview 6:10pm - Workshop: Getting Started with Headless CMS 7:00pm - Wrap Up Prerequisites for this Meetup are as follows: 1. Bring your laptop! 2. Install your favorite text editor on your laptop. If you don't have a preference, try VS Code (https://code.visualstudio.com/) or Atom (https://atom.io/). 3. Install Git (https://git-scm.com/). While it will help if you have some familiarity with Git (and GitHub), it's okay if you aren't familiar with either. We're going to run a few commands. But it's an important piece of the puzzle, so we will cover it. 4. Sign up for GitHub (https://github.com/). 5. Sign up for Netlify (https://www.netlify.com/). If you need help with any of these steps (other than the laptop), plan to arrive at 5:30 and we will help you get started.
