Jamstack OPO #9 | Jamstack in enterprise websites + Semantic code reviews

Details

Jamstack is not about specific technologies. It’s a new way of building websites and apps that delivers better performance, higher security, lower cost of scaling, and better developer experience.

We decided to keep the Meetups online while the government soften the lock-down and take the opportunity to have speakers from different countries to share their experience with us.

We will have 2 talks during this June edition!!

For the first talk, we are happy to have Michał Zieliński from Bejamas, a web development shop focused on helping agencies and companies with serverless web, Static Site Generators & Jamstack tools.

## JAMstack in enterprise websites: Mambu case study
By Michał Zieliński from Bejamas (https://bejamas.io/)

Michał will share with us his experience in creating a faster web platform with Gatsby and Sanity for a SaaS banking platform. The main idea of this talk is to share a specific case study.

## About Michał Zieliński
Aspiring software engineer with a passion for front-end and serverless solutions. He enjoys solving problems and is always eager to learn new skills. A technology enthusiast with love for both programming and human languages. Privately loves hiking and brewing coffee.

For the second presentation, we will have Marcelo Sousa from Explore.dev a brand new company working with semantic code reviews.

## Becoming a super reviewer with semantic code reviews
Code reviews are an increasingly important process in software development to guarantee high standards of code maintainability, reliability and security. Still, in 2020, we are doing painful code reviews based on textual differences over files. At Explore.dev, we are working on semantic code reviews, a new approach to reduce the friction associated with code reviews and enable developers to spend more time reviewing what matters. In this talk, I will present semantic code reviews for GitHub.com's pull requests and how developers can use this new superpower in their pull request reviews.

## About Marcelo Sousa
Marcelo is on a mission to improve the life of software developers. He has a PhD on formal methods from the University of Oxford and over the last years, he worked on program analysers at IBM, Microsoft Research, Google and SonarSource. In 2019, he got fed up with the way code reviews are done and started Explore.dev with a team of fellow developers to solve this problem.
