Details

Happy 2020. We are glad to finally announce the 1st JAMstack meetup of the year. We have a confirmed talk title, and are just waiting on the other two. We should have all abstracts by end of week. But we're also delighted to have Rangle.io hosting us this time around. The famous consulting firm was gracious enough to provide their space, next door to the ScotiaBank Arena, home of the Atlantic division leading Toronto Raptors!

⚡️ Talk 1.

Editor Experience in JAMstack sites w/ Gatsby
by James Vidler

JAMstack boasts an amazing developer experience, but that doesn’t mean there should be a trade-off with the editor experience. Editors are accustomed to certain capabilities. If your site falls short of them, you are giving JAMstack a bad name.

Five Things Audience Members Will Learn

  1. Common complaints from editors regarding JAMstack sites and how to solve them
  2. How to integrate a Gatsby site with a CMS
  3. How to give editors more control over page management
  4. How to set up a real-time preview environment for editors
  5. Overall, how to make your editors happy and reduce their dependency on you

⚡️ Talk 2.

Integrating Web Hooks w/ NPM. (provisional title)
by Darcy Clarke

🚨 Added, we are happy to officially announce that Toronto FITC has a one day one track JAMstack driven event scheduled for Friday March 20th 2020, @ Telus Digital space. All the info is here: http://bit.ly/jamstackFITC

Developers from Netlify, StackBit, Gatsby, Dev 6, Agility CMS and a few more to announce. We're also planning something the night before (March 19th) as well, so make sure to use that pre-connect resource hint to keep lines of communication open. (very bad dev joke).

And, because JAMstack Toronto has a little pinky finger in the mix, we also have a discount code to share:

🚩 JAMstackTORONTO will get you 25% off. No better time to scoop that up.

All of that being said, snap up a spot quickly as we're also possibly collaborating with another meetup (everyone wants to ride the wave!).

Ok. More to come so stay tuned.

ℹ️ PS - as usual, do you have a ⚡️ talk you'd like to pitch or submit?? Let us know! We're always looking for small talks during the event, and insist on having a diverse set of speakers - so come one come all.

On Twitter?? Remember to follow us:

@JAMstackTORONTO.

Cheers!
