Join us for an evening of JHipster fun! JHipster champions Julien Dubois, Ray Tsang, and Yakov Fain will each deliver a mini presentation. Check out their bios and abstracts for their talks below!

Getting Started with JHipster

JHipster is a popular open-source code generator that automates creation and configuration of a Web project that uses the Angular framework on the front and Java Spring Boot on the back. This presentation will start with an intro to JHipster, and then we'll generate a new Angular/Spring Boot app from scratch. This will be a CRUD app of the following architecture: a gateway (the front end), a microservice (the back end), and a service discovery server.

Bio: Yakov Fain works as a Solutions Architect at the IT consultancy Farata Systems. A Java Champion, he has taught multiple classes and workshops on the web and Java-related technologies, presented at international conferences, and published more than a thousand blog posts (see https://yakovfain.com (https://yakovfain.com/)). Yakov authored and co-authored a number of technical books on programming including the Amazon bestseller "Angular 2 Development with TypeScript." He leads Princeton Java Users Group.

JHipster newest features, and our (secret) plan to conquer the world
This session will showcase JHipster's latest features, that were released in the last 3 to 6 months: this includes Angular 4 support, the new JHipster Registry, and many new options. We will also discuss our roadmap, for example our upcoming React support and the current work on Spring 5 Webflux.

Bio: Julien Dubois is the creator and lead developer of JHipster. He works at Ippon Technology as Chief Innovation Officer.

JHipster Generator for Kubernetes

This session will use the Kubernetes generator to generate deployment descriptors to deploy into Kubernetes. Once deployed, we'll show how to scale horizontally with ease, and adapt to failure scenarios.
