What we're about
This is a meetup page for Japan`s International Gamers Guild in the Tokyo/Kanto area--Since 1992, JIGG has been Japan's largest and longest running English speaking and bilingual gaming group. We play roleplaying games, boardgames, CCGs (Collectible Card Games, i.e., Magic) historical simulation games (wargames), miniatures games (including historical miniatures and games by Games Workshop), and traditional games like chess. Regular meetings are organized at least once a month. Just bring your favorite board game and there will definitely be someone willing to try it with you.
Are you visiting Tokyo on vacation/business tip and need a game fix? JIGG Tokyo caters also for you, come play board games in Tokyo with us!
JIGG was started by Steve Brown a.k.a. "STAN" and Kevin Burns a.k.a. "greatpowers" to find gamers and help promote game events in the Tokyo/Kanto area. We welcome new hosts that can schedule game days in the greater Tokyo area. If you would like to host a game day, feel free to contact us.
Minimum requirements for possible candidates are:
• A substantial board game collection of their own 50+ games at least.
• Being able to provide space for a minimum of 20 people in a public location.
• Anyone can join their game day and bring and play any game they like (with exception to games related to gambling).
JIGGとは、言ってしまえば毎週末に集まってボードゲームをやってるグループです。名前にインターナショナルと付く通り、参加者は海外の方が多いです。 と はいえ、日本にお住まいの方々ですから大体日本語はわかりますし、「英語全然しゃべれない！」と心配する必要は無いです。
ゲームデーは、毎週の日曜日に首都圏4か所で開催しています。

Information for gaming outside the greater Tokyo area
JIGG Kansai
This meetup group is primarily for JIGG Kansai which encompasses Osaka and its surrounding prefectures (mainly Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto).
JIGG Tokai
The Tokai Chapter of JIGG, mainly encompasses Nagoya but has active members from Mie and Shizuoka prefectures. JIGG Tokai and JIGG Kansai intermingle often especially for larger events!

JIGG Shinshu
This branch of JIGG covers the Nagano and Niigata prefecture areas. Most gamers are located in Nagano city and Matsumoto city and regular events are held in Nagano.

There is something for everyone! We play all types of fun games like: co-op games, themed games, strategy games, wargames and more. Even if you are new you can try some of the games. Bring your own games, or try something new!
We will have the room for the whole day. Feel free to come early, or join us any time throughout the day!
Twilight Imperium and other heavy war games like Here I stand are played regularly at this event, so if you are an enthusiast join us for a game!
Attendance fee will be around the usual 300 yen we charge for most of our other locations too, just to cover the room booking fees.

We are 5~10 mins walk from JR Shinjuku Station and only 2 blocks away from the nearest Toei-Shinjuku line Sinjuku station exit.

Hi all
Sorry about the wait and the weird days, struggling to get rooms at the moment. Room 3 in Ofuna, today.
Still 11:30-21:00 because the time slots have changed.
Please remember:
(a) After talking to many people, I've decided to make masks optional. But please still continue to be careful.
(b) We will try to eat in a corner or outside the room, but drinking while playing is fine and necessary.
(c) New people should use real names, not internet handles, partly in case we need to do contact tracing, and partly just general good sense.
If you are unwell and have a cough or fever, I'm afraid you can't attend the event. Yes, even with a recent PRC test and documentation.
There's new aircon in the building so the air temperature and ventilation is good.
Anyway, please keep bringing your own games, as that has been great.
Please also have a look at my game collection and let me know if you have any requests. They take up a lot of space, and my wife wishes I'd play them ever:
