Dart, the language that tried to kill Javascript.

Dart is an application programming language that’s easy to learn, easy to scale, and deployable everywhere. It was designed to replace Javascript on the web. Though it failed to completely replace JS, the creators adapted and made Dart a language that can transpile to JS. It has it’s own version of Angular, a Flash like framework called StageXL. It can run on mobile devices through the Flutter Framework, and is used for Server Side development.

We will briefly cover the language and it’s syntax, the core SDK that comes with the language, a few of the different tools and frameworks available, and if all goes well some brief live coding examples.

JSLou is a gathering where people of any experience level, and all types of JavaScript can feel right at home. We meet two times per month to talk about news in the world of JavaScript and Nodejs, show projects we are working on, and work on group projects. Come check it out!
