Let’s explore the nature in Shiretoko and Akan areas this summer!

Shiretoko is located in the east part of Hokkaido, where the distance of nature and humans is very close. In 2005, Shiretoko was listed in the World Natural Heritage Site of UNESCO with its remarkable interactions between marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and biodiversity.

Lake Mashū is an endorheic crater lake formed in the caldera of a potentially active volcano. It is located in Akan Mashu National Park on the island of Hokkaido, Japan. It has been called the clearest lake in the world.

There are so many things to see. Will enjoy majestic landscapes of Eastern Hokkaido as much as we can. We will start from Kushiro airport and ends our trip in Memanbetsu.

知床・阿寒エリアの自然を見に行こう！

知床は北海道の東部に位置し、自然と人間の距離がとっても近いです。知床は2005年に海洋生態系と陸域生態系の顕著な相互作用と生物多様性が評価され、ユネスコの世界自然遺産に登録さました。

摩周湖は、活火山のカルデラ内に形成された火口湖です。北海道の阿寒摩周国立公園内にあり、世界で最も透明度の高い湖とも呼ばれています。

見どころはたくさんあるので、北海道の雄大な風景を思う存分楽しみたいと思います！釧路空港からスタートして女満別空港に最後は向かいます。

Some of the places to visit

• Akan Mashu National Park
• Shiretoko National Park (Shiretokogoko lake)
• Hiking on Mt. Pekere or Meakandake or other mountains (TBD)
• Visiting water falls
• Abashiri prison (optional)
• Lake Kusharo
• Kaminoko Ike
• Many hiking trails
• Rausu lake trekking (may need to join a tour)

Meeting Point: Kushiro airport at 9:30
*Can take either ANA or JAL.
Participation fee: 36,000 (subject to change depending on # of participants but this is the max amount. It can be less)
Including:
- 2 nights accomodation

• Dinner on 2nd night and breakfast on 3rd day
- rental car, toll, gas, parking for the entire trip
- organizing and planning

Not Included:

• transportation to Kushiro airport/from Memanbetsu airport
• meals didn’t mentioned above
• admission to any facilities, additional activities

I’ll arrive Kushiro on 12th and explore a bit. If anyone wants to join, do let me knoww. Will split the cost if any. You must book your own accommodation for the night of 12th.
