This group is for anyone interested in the art of Japanese Taiko Drumming.
Learn how to play taiko with Wellingtons very own Narukami Taiko! All skill levels are welcome.
Taiko 太鼓 is a dynamic art form originating from ancient Japan. Taiko are a broad range of Japanese percussion instruments, and refers to taiko ensemble drumming called kumi daiko.
Modern Japanese taiko drumming, combines music and dance to inspire and delight audiences.
Narukami Taiko debuted in 2014 with just a handful of drums and players, now we have classes Sunday through to Thursday nights with a large friendly community of players.
We are always looking for new members and beginners are very welcome. Currently we teach classes in Newtown, Aro Valley and now Petone!

Come try taiko drumming!
Hutt Central School, 6 Railway Avenue, Lower Hutt, NZTaiko Taster is back, and we're ready to drum with you!
Do you have a New Years resolution to try something new? Make new friends? Find a new hobby? Get more exercise, and have fun doing it? Come and learn taiko with us at our Open Session! No drumming or music experience necessary. Beginners and all ages welcome!

We are Narukami Taiko, a Japanese taiko drum team in Wellington NZ. We are always looking for new members to join our group! We teach classes in Wellington, and Lower Hutt.
We are holding a one hour open session where you can come and try taiko drumming with us! We will show you the basics of taiko drumming, and you will come out of it playing a short song.
After you have finished learning your new taiko song, Narukami Taiko will do a short performance.
Please bring hearing protection for any young ones coming.
Disposable earplugs are available, and are complimentary with your donation entry.
