Meetup details changed: Open Seattle Japanese Language and Culture Meetup

From: Jason T.
Sent on: Monday, July 30, 2012 8:39 PM

I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:

When: Thursday, August 2,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Wing Wah
923 S Jackson St
Seattle, WA 98104

We'll meet at Wing Wah, a Chinese joint in a little building around 10th & Jackson, to nibble on a nice whole fish dish, a Chinese eggplant and tofu dish, and some other good stuff. The owners are eager to please Japanese-style tastes, so we'll see what they can do.

We will order to share. Prices are likely to be pretty cheap; expect slightly under $20/person. Please bring cash. Beer will be handled separately. I promise not to order too much jellyfish.

If you have any special dietary requirements, let me know via your RSVP, otherwise I'll order an assortment of vegetarian, seafood and meat dishes.

The Olympics are no excuse for skipping out this week, as the event you want to watch happened hours ago and you can just look for the video online. Come and eat Chinese food instead!

Parking is available on site. Bus access is easy with routes 7 and 36, and probably a number of others.

The nijikai venue depends on the group size. I would vote for invading Zack and Miyuki's house, but you'll probably end up at Ft. Ste. George or Maekawa if it's a small group, or the dingy place that my parents used to go out to on dates in the 70s, now known mostly for its ancient Karaoke machine and stiff, poorly balanced drinks, otherwise known as Bush Garden.

This Meetup repeats every week on Thursday.

If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Yes".)

You can always get in touch with me through my group profile on Meetup.
