Thursday's Meetup at La Cocina Oaxaqueña (Capitol Hill)

From: Jason T.
Sent on: Tuesday, June 17, 2014, 8:14 PM

I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:
http://www.meetup.com/JapaneseSeattle/events/187925182/

When: Thursday, June 19,[masked]:30 PM

Where: La Cocina Oaxaqueña
1216 Pine Street
Seattle, WA 98101

La Cocina Oaxaqueña is just short walk from Convention Center station in the lower bits of Capitol Hill, and they serve super decent Mexican food! You'll dig it. It's one of Hiromi's favorite Mexican joints, and food is mostly easy to share. It's not that goopy stuff you find served on oversized plates; it's all nicely-done Oaxacan fare.

We will order food to share by default, but if you prefer to order on your own, I may be able to accommodate; please let me know ahead of time. We'll order an assortment of vegetarian, seafood and meat dishes, but if you have more specific dietary needs just add a comment below.

Please show up if you RSVP yes! Last week we had three no-shows, turning a $15/person dinner into a $21/person dinner, which isn't very nice for the people who have to make up the difference. We don't know whether you're 15 minutes late or just aren't coming. If you need to cancel, please update your RSVP before the event.

Do bring plenty of cash. We expect this place to work out to something like $18-22/person for food; settling the bill with a dozen credit cards as my children start to whine about going home can be a bit challenging.

Paid parking is available nearby with varying rates; if you want to save a few bucks head up to the Seattle University garage and walk a few blocks back down the hill. There should be some street parking if you get here on time, but it's Capitol Hill and it does fill up fast. Bus access is easy with a number of routes, but I usually just walk up the hill from Convention Center station. I think 10, 11, 43 and 49, or 545 should do the trick if you aren't using a bus tunnel route.

This Meetup repeats every week on Thursday.

If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Yes".)
