Parallel and Asynchronous Programming with Streams and CompletableFuture

Parallel programming vs. asynchronous programming...What's the difference? Java 8 provides ways to do both with parallel streams and CompletableFuture. In this presentation we will first dive into parallel streams and understand the pros and cons of using it. Then, in the second half of the presentation, we will learn about the power and capabilities of CompletableFuture. The objective of the presentation is for developers to get a good understanding of when and how to use these powerful Java APIs.
