Talks:

An Introduction to Cypress - Nick Brook, CTO KisanHub

Are you still testing webapps by hand - you know, using actual humans?
Have you been burned by Selenium or irritated by Protractor? Try Cypress: a sane and dev-friendly way to automatically test your webapps. I'll give a quick tutorial of Cypress and write a quick test example, and finish with a brief summary of how we deploy and use it in KisanHub.

Eleven Reasons to love Eleventy - Christian Miles, Tech Lead Cambridge Intelligence

Do you remember when building websites was fun? Back before elaborate build processes, ballooning payloads and complicated frameworks?

In this talk Christian will introduce a simple static site generator written in JavaScript. It's called Eleventy and is open source, flexible and zero config by default.

You're probably already using websites that were built with Eleventy: sites from Google, Netlify and Khan Academy to name just three.

With a massive range of alternatives out there like Jekyll and Hugo, Christian will walk through the reasons Eleventy is his go-to static site generator and highlight the best resources to kickstart your next website project.

[ + ONE MORE SHORT TALK - SEEKING VOLUNTEERS ]

Topics could be anything JavaScript/TypeScript/Node related - say esbuild, svelte, vite, recoil, xstate, deno, pulumi - it is up to you!

If you'd like to volunteer a talk please email me joe@joeparry.com

We're going to switch venue for this one - the Maypole is a lovely family-run pub in the centre of Cambridge. We'll be in the first floor function room which has enough space for about 30 people.

Drinks and snacks will be provided as usual.

Looking forward to seeing people again soon :-)

Joe
