Where do you use JavaScript? Work/fun/UI/server/hardware?

I have not used Node extensively, but have used a number of javascript libraries (such as jQuery) as well as written javascript content myself. I have used most scripting languages including javascript, php, perl, VBScript and Ruby. I have used many non-scripting programming languages as well, such as Cobol (mainframe), C++, Java, Visual Basic, and the .NET suite of languages (C#, Visual Basic, C++, J#, ASP.NET, etc). I have worked in detail with many databases as well (MS-SQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQLite, Access, etc.). I work on desktop applications, web applications, and mobile applications (both native and web). I, really am interested in discussing some of the way in which people are using Node, what they feel the strengths are compared to other javascript libraries, and what are the limitations. As well as any other topics of interest relating to Node.

I am the CEO / Chairman of a software development company. I served in the United States Marine Corps and currently the Chapter President of the KC Branch of the National Marine Corps Business Network, and been in the IS/IT industry over 20 years.
