Where do you use JavaScript? Work/fun/UI/server/hardware?

Yes, I've built a few production apps now in Node. Some are just simple REST API's and others are more full featured web applications like what we're doing over at In all cases, I've used it with MongoDb. Some are built in coffee script others in JavaScript. I've also mixed up the view engines with Some EJS, Handlebars (my favorite), and Jade. My older ones are using Express 3 with the new ones on Express 4. I have not played with Koa yet, but it looks super interesting.

I've been working with Node over the past year after spending the previous 12 years in the Microsoft stack. JS as a web platform is a huge breath of fresh air for me. I've also dabbled with native iOS. I'm an independent consultant in the KC area.
