Virtual Event: Code Championship and Recursion in the Wild – Luke Schlangen

Details
Hello JavaScriptMN-ers!
We're excited to be back this month with another virtual event featuring Luke Schlangen! Please find the Zoom link below. We will also email the Zoom link (and share in Slack) on the day-of. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Code Championship and Recursion in the Wild - Luke Schlangen
Let’s explore a real life example of recursion in its natural habitat, and then let’s play the game built on top of that code! After years in software development and never needing to use recursion, I felt pretty confident telling my students that recursion was something they should learn for engineering interviews, and then they could forget about it. Until one day, when I ran into a problem in the wild where the only solution I could think of was recursion. We’ll do a historical re-enactment of that fateful day, and then we’ll have some fun playing Code Championship (the competitive coding platform) built on top of that recursive JavaScript code.
About Luke Schlangen
I am a Web Developer, Teacher, and Team Leader. I lead HatCHRy at C.H. Robinson (an onboarding program for new Software Engineers). My wife and I founded Code Championship (competitive computer coding) to inspire the next generation of computer coders.
