What we're about

We are a Tibetan Buddhist sangha and the purpose of the meetup is to provide a forum for people to come into contact with the Dharma and meditation practice. Our Tuesday and Wednesday sessions are geared towards curious folks who have never stepped into a Buddhist temple, though we also draw experienced practitioners who have been doing this for decades. It's usually a lively mix and everyone is welcome. We ask that first-timers arrive a few minutes early for a quick orientation before practice begins.

Medicine Buddha Puja Practice

Location visible to members

Medicine Buddha Puja, meaning a special chanted prayer session. All are welcome to attend, and we welcome practitioners to join in this wonderful, traditional healing and purification practice we chant in Tibetan. Chanting is in Tibetan with English and transliteration text provided. Join in the chanting, attend quietly as a blessing, or do your own practice during the pujas. Participation is voluntary and open to all.
This Mahayana/Vajrayana puja practice includes prayers requested by friends and relatives for those who are experiencing difficulties in life, are ill or have died; you are invited to add your personal dedications during the prayers. These practices develop and enrich an attitude of healing the body and mind and cultivating an attitude of loving-kindness and compassion for all beings without exception.

Practice in person or on zoom.
RSVP to see zoom link.

The sadhana or prayer is chanted in Tibetan with English translation in the text. You can download the text here https://dharmaebooks.org/medicine-buddha/
The text will also be shared on screen during the zoom session.

We are currently reading Medicine Buddha Teachings by Thrangu Rinpcohe before each practice. This will be an excellent walk through for those who haven’t had formal instruction and a great refresher for seasoned practitioners.
