6.5 Mile Group Run!!
We're slowing building up our mileage!! Here's a map of the full route: Description: We'll leave Empire Tea and Coffee and run down Bellevue Ave to Touro Street and down to Washington Square to the Long Wharf Shops. We'll run through the Long Wharf Shops (and right by the new Run Newport running store!), cross the street at Panera, and run down Long Wharf Road to Washington Street. We'll then do a loop through the Point section of Newport and back to Americas Cup Blvd at the bus station. Next, we'll run down America's Cup Blvd to Market Square where we'll do a quick water/bathroom break and run briefly through Bowen's and Bannister's Wharf before getting back onto America's Cup. Then we'll run down Thames Street all the way to where it turns into Carroll Ave. After a block or so on Carroll Ave we'll take a left onto Bateman Ave (turns into Gordon St. and then Shepard Ave) and we'll run up the hill all the way to the Cliff Walk. We'll turn left at the Cliff Walk (water stop at Narragansett if needed) and run all the way to Memorial Blvd. Then we'll make a left at Memorial Blvd and head back to Empire Tea and Coffee!

What we're about

The Newport Galloway Marathon and Half Marathon Training Program is open to anyone who is interested in running a marathon or half marathon - whether you are looking to complete your first or improve your time! The training group welcomes all levels, from beginners to Boston qualifiers. Walk/Run pace groups are set up to ensure a comfortable and safe training pace for every ability. We will offer both time-goal and first-time training programs for both the Half and Full Marathon. Goal races will target area Summer Half Marathons and Fall/Early Winter Half and Full Marathons.
