Medical Applications of Computer Vision
Details
We're glad to announce the 2nd Jerusalem Computer Vision and Deep Learning Meetup!
This time we'll be discussing medical applications of Computer Vision, specifically Segmentation and 2D-3D Registration for Spine Surgery Navigation
Like our previous meeting we'll be meeting at the Giv'at Ram campus of Hebrew U.
Agenda:
18:30-18:50 - Mingling, Food
18:50-19:20 - Talk #1 - Yehiel Shilo, lead Algorithm Developer, RSIP Vision - 2D-3D Registration for Spine Surgery Navigation
19:30-20:00 - Talk #2 - Moshe Safran, Head of R&D, RSIP Vision - Segmentation for Spine Surgery Navigation
20:00-20:30 - Some more mingling
A Navigation system for spine surgery is important for improving accuracy and reducing the radiation during the procedure. The following two lectures will present the development path for such a system.
- Segmentation for Spine Surgery Navigation - one of the tasks needed for the navigation system is to perform a 3D segmentation of a CT volume. In the talk, we will present how to perform a 3D segmentation of a spine CT using convolutional neural networks and will compare it to classical image processing method. We will discuss the different methods to segment a 3D volume.
- 2D-3D Registration for Spine Surgery Navigation - Registration between different coordinate systems is needed for the navigation system. In the talk, we will present how to find the transformation between different coordinate systems using 2D3D registration methods. Calibration of X-Ray systems, as well as different optimization approaches, will be discussed.
Please RSVP if you intend on coming, so we can make sure to have enough food...
