Divorce support group meetings
Please note that the venue for the meetups has changed due to renovations going on at the Indaba Hotel. For now the meetups will be at the Fusionista Restaurant in Randburg. They have a lovely atmosphere and amazing East Asian food, but you are not obliged to eat. Just come and enjoy yourselves. Divorce is like a tornado—ripping through your life, threatening to destroy everything in its path. Th emotional whirlwinds bring fear, confusion, and despair, affecting you, your children, family members, and friends. You will likely wonder: Why did this storm hit my life and why does it hurt so much? I think everyone that went through a divorce or is going through one, knows how difficult it is. There are no costs involved other than your food and drinks consumed during the meeting. Please may I ask that everyone keep a record of what they consume so that this may be paid to the waitron upon exiting the meeting. It is important to note that the meetings are focused on how to move forward and how to manage issues which will and can arise during and after a divorce, with specific focus on what the Bible teaches us about divorce and how to handle loss. You will find enrichment through the topics and discussions, not to mention the interesting people you will meet. The Divorce or not-divorce support group started early 2011 by Marco Miltenburg for people who are going through a divorce or have been divorced and need support. After 7 years, Marco decided to take a sabbatical and at the moment the group is run by John and Fransa. Just by talking to people who are in the same boat as you can be very helpful. You realize that you are not alone in this difficult time. We get together every second and last Thursday of the month at the Indaba Hotel at 19.00hr. We start the evening by opening in prayer and at about 21:00 we close in prayer. If you would like to join, please feel free to do so. What we're about

Divorce and separation is a challenging experience and can also be very lonely at times. Sharing our experiences with Travellers on the same journey as us does not take away the pain but can make it more bearable. This is not a singles group or a group offering professional services such as legal or psychological advice. It is a group of people who are interested in healing and supporting others as well as being supported. The topics for Meet ups will be determined by the needs of the group members but will include topics such as becoming whole again, building self esteem after a divorce, the changing singles environment, rediscovering the "real me", establishing a new kind of normal, dealing with conflict and our children's pain.
